Since its founding in 1969, ORFÈVRE Gallery has been a premier destination for heirloom-quality, handcrafted jewelry by renowned contemporary artists and goldsmiths. From the very beginning, the gallery has been dedicated to showcasing innovative design, masterful craftsmanship, and the highest quality in artistic jewelry.
In April 2020, goldsmith and designer Lisa Scherebnenko became the director of ORFÈVRE Gallery. She took over from Peter Hassenpflug, one of the original ten founders of the gallery. These pioneering artists and goldsmiths came from across Germany with a shared vision: to create and present their own exclusive jewelry collections under one roof.
The founding members of ORFÈVRE include:
Peter Hassenpflug and Marie Hassenpflug (Düsseldorf), Wilhelm Buchert (Kiel), Dietrich Bring (Berlin), Herbert Fischer (Schwäbisch Gmünd), Bernd Munsteiner (Stipshausen), Klaus Neubauer (Hamburg), Dieter Pieper (Lüdenscheid), Hadfried Rinke (Worpswede), Gisela Seibert-Philippen (Berlin), and Heinrich Wildt (Worpswede).
Today, ORFÈVRE continues its legacy as a leading jewelry gallery in Germany, offering unique, artist-made pieces that blend tradition, innovation, and artistic excellence.
The artists behind ORFÈVRE were pioneers of conceptual jewelry. They created pieces that were not only examples of masterful craftsmanship, but also the result of strong artistic concepts and ideas. Their work questioned traditional norms in jewelry design—exploring how gold, silver, and precious gemstones could be worn in new and unconventional ways. At the same time, they investigated which alternative materials could also be transformed into wearable art.
Today, Lisa Scherebnenko continues this forward-thinking tradition. As the director of ORFÈVRE, she supports both established and emerging jewelry artists, offering them a platform to showcase and sell their work. ORFÈVRE remains a place where innovation, artistic expression, and high-quality handcrafted jewelry meet.
