The Omphalos, the ancient “navel of the world” from the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, once marked the very center of the earth: a symbol of origin.

Artist Walter Wittek circles, both literally and metaphorically, around this idea of centers. His works make visible the moment when beginning and end converge, when the boundary touches the core.

This exhibition presents a comprehensive overview of Wittek’s jewelry: from the legendary Tension Rings of the late 1970s – iconic pieces in which he reimagined the very notion of circular tension – to his more recent works, where the Omphalos becomes not merely a symbol, but a wearabel object.

With SILBERSOMMER, ORFÈVRE revives a long-standing tradition and places a material at the center that has fascinated for centuries. Silver is noble and headstrong, adaptable and full of character.

The exhibition brings together works by regional and international jewelry designers, goldsmith studios, and artists who reflect on jewelry in their practice. Their approaches are as diverse as their techniques: some finely crafted, others left raw; some narrative, others abstract. What unites them is a passion for the material and a curiosity about what can emerge from it.

SILBERSOMMER is an invitation to rediscover silver.

Is a plant still a plant when it grows on a windowsill? When its roots are confined to a pot and its leaves adjust to filtered light—has it been tamed, or merely redefined?

The exhibition ES GIBT KEINE ZIMMERPFLANZEN (There’s No Such Thing as a Houseplant) takes its title as a quiet provocation. Fritz Adamski’s sculptural ceramics serve as vessels for a series of unconventional plants—wild, sprawling, sometimes resistant to domestic life. These are not your usual potted companions. Their forms challenge the visual vocabulary of the houseplant, and with it, the idea that nature can be easily framed, softened, or scaled down for interior design.

Much like Adamski’s containers—robust, idiosyncratic, and far from neutral—the plants resist their roles as passive décor. Together, they unsettle the assumed boundaries between object and environment, wilderness and home. This is not just an arrangement of things—it is a study of containment, care, and the quiet negotiations we stage with nature in our living spaces.

What are your three favourite objects?
This simple yet revealing question is the starting point for every interview in 3 objects - a print magazine founded in Berlin by Sven Durst. It’s an interview-based publication that explores the emotional and symbolic connections between people and their most cherished objects. In this issue, 13 interesting personalities are photographed in their homes - their “natural habitats”, with just a few film photographs per participant: a portrait and their three chosen objects. This issue takes a broader perspective, featuring voices from Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, and Sicily. Among the participants are artist Michael Stipe, Sicilian fermenting expert Marion Tiso, PIN-UP founder Felix Burrichter, bodybuilder Tischa Thomas, and architect Sam Chermayeff.

A box is a box is a box is a box—but is it ever just a box?

Inspired by Gertrude Stein’s famous poem, the exhibition explores different ways of perceiving the box. It is both an everyday object and a place of the extraordinary. Long serving as a protective space for memories and valuables, it is both a keeper of secrets and an organizational system.
